Description
Herring (scientific name: Sardinella) is a marine fish belonging to the genus of herringbone, herring family (Clupeidae). This is a species of fish with great economic value, is an important object of the world fisheries, they are caught, exploited a lot to get herring meat. In Vietnam, there are about 10 species of herring, the most important are round herring (S. aurita) and herring (S. jussieu).
Herring is a type of fish similar to apricot, but it is bigger, skin is bluish, small bones, long, thin body, equal jaws. Fish have small or missing teeth, thin round scales, easy to fall, species with comb scales, in the belly of serrated fish. Herring has the habit of migrating into large herds. In the wild, herring is the bait of predators such as sea birds, dolphins, sea lions, whales, sharks, tuna, cod, salmon, and other large fish. Herring in particular is a rich source of food for white-headed eagles. Herring is one of the group of small bony herring that survived the extinction in the late Cretaceous period, which still exists today in marine environments.
